Life’s Vines
“Oh how wonderful it is to have our paths intertwined,
Like the growing tangles of little vines,
Our lives twist and turn and tangle,
So ever are we destine to cross paths at every turning angle,
I look forward to our crossings,
Though when our paths are parting,
I see more clearly everything I’m missing,
From humor and happiness we share, to the secrets and sorrows we are always confiding,
Tangled are our lives for we share a bond deeper than the pettiness of those around us,
Not broken by the cold hand of death nor a society that is grinding us to mere dust.
Apart we are lonesome,
And never sure of what’s to come,
Worry not the life’s plagues that rattle the mind,
For our paths are forever intertwined.”

(I wrote this a couple of years ago about parting friends, enjoy.)
